- JJohn MichaelLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoMy wife and I were visiting London from Manila, and our friend from Singapore - an ex-Londoner - highly recommended we set aside time to try out the best steak at either a Hawksmoor or a competitor chop house. I'm glad we went for the former as we had a stellar lunch experience on our last day before flying out. The menus were an experience unto their own, which my wife and I enjoyed going through. The Sour Cherry Negroni was a good start to our dining experience. Roasted Scallops: fresh, tasty, and arguably the biggest scallops we've had. Rib-eye (350g): an excellent cut, and the only thing we regret was not getting the 450g option. We had this with Mash & Gravy and Creamed Spinach which were excellent too. (Don't forget to ask the waitstaff for wine pairings.) We'll definitely visit a Hawskmoor again the next time we're in London.More infoHawksmoor GuildhallPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Bank•4.6
- KKathleenSan Francisco Bay Area •12 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoOutstanding food, service, ambiance. Classic British food, nose to tail, simply but exquisitely prepared. We started with olives and roasted bone marrow, a favourite we order whenever possible, and this was the best we’ve ever had. Accompanying parsley salad was flavourful crunchy and fresh, perfect accompaniment along sourdough toast. For mains we shared grey mullet, grilled shorthorn, white asparagus, green salad and a sublime braised mutton. Everything was superb and we were quite full but couldn’t resist dessert. Both the lemon posset and date loaf with butterscotch sauce were incredible and we ate every last bit. Service was low key excellent and very helpful as we ordered wine by the glass having over imbibed over the weekend and server recommendations were perfect.More infoSt. JOHN SmithfieldPrice: Very Expensive• British• Farringdon•4.8
- MMarineLondon •3 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 10, 2024The staff were very accommodating considering we were a large table with a child which can be a bit chaotic. Dim Sum was great as per usual, we’ve been coming to Dragon Castle for a few years for a family meal and it never disappoints. A great selection of Cantonese breakfast classics. 10/10 would visit again.More infoDragon CastlePrice: Moderate• Chinese• Elephant and Castle•4.2
