Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Capitol Hill / First Hill

Great food, nice staff, only two small complaints would be that we were seated in a noisy area when other spots were available & I’d also say that the portion size for the avocado smoked salmon toast was a little smaller than what I’d expect for the price.

Wonderful spot for a rainy evening cocktail and bite. Superb staff relaxed w time to tell us of their wonderful offerings.

Our experience was great. Came at a quiet time (5 PM), but 3 of our party of 5 got there a bit early and 2 almost a half hour late with traffic. No problem for our waiter. Dealt with it very well. Food was excellent. 3 separate checks easily dealt with, all positive!

We dined pre-theatre and our server was careful to ensure we dined in time to get to the performance. He was competent, considerate and attentive without being over solicitous, making for an enjoyable evening of conversation and fine, fine food! Highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal in an ambiance in which you can actually have a conversation.

The sweet onion tart and calamari were excellent, as was the crispy duck confit. This is a family favorite where the food and service is always excellent! Check it out!
