My Nonna's name was Isola, a wonderful cook who gave me a passion for food and fresh, simple ingredients.I have vivid memories of my grandmother turning plain bread into amazing desserts, simple apples into incredible fritters sprinkled with a little sugar and honey, and even treating my sunburns with olive oil.     Unfortunately , Baci’s doesn’t serve veal piccata anymore. It was our absolute favorite. There is still the “old world” atmosphere and excellent service. The marinated, sautéed mushrooms & also the calamari are delicious. I ended up ordering from the appetizer menu.

    Food was excellent as usual. I had the duck and wife had the salmon. Both cooked perfectly as we wished and very delicious. Wait staff was courteous. We were seated in the upstairs area which was quiet but a touch chilly (Dec. 27); old Victorian buildings are not known for their insulation.

    Everything was well presented and delicious. The service was very good. The only problem we had was our order for calamari. It arrived extremely spicy. The texture of the breaded and fried calamari was harder than average, giving the impression that this was not a fresh dish. Fortunately, a manager stopped by and checked on us. When we told him of our disappointment, he immediately ordered us a fresh batch without any hot spices in it. We were happy and we totally enjoyed the results.
