We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). Given the reputation of this establishment, it did not fail to live up to the hype surrounding it's name. The plates where simplistic in nature but full of wonderful flavors. The kitchen buzzed with an energetic hum, loud at some points, reminded you that something special was being crafted just for you. The staff moved around with purpose and paid close attention to providing an amazing dining experience.

Perfect meal, drinks and service. I’ve never had a bad experience at Hawksmoor - this branch in particular. The atmosphere is always great, staff are attentive and helpful, and the food is tremendous quality and value. Many thanks for another lovely visit.
