- SStephenBuckinghamshire •5 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoSurprised to find we were the only diners when we arrived on Christmas Eve for lunch, and only one other table occupied in the time we were there. The service was exemplary although there was no reason for it not to be with so few diners. Did wonder if senior kitchen staff had been given a day off as one hot starter was virtually cold and my parsnips were so undercooked I couldn’t even cut them with a knife and fork, although they were replaced some time later. It was a shame as the setting is lovely and it should have been a better experience.More infoMonkey Island Brasserie & BarPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary British• Bray•4.6
- AalisonBuckinghamshire •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoIt’s not always easy being a vegan and dining at a restaurant that doesn’t specialise but tonight I was blown away by the quality of the food which was so flavourful. There wasn’t a huge amount of choice for me but I had the Asian salad and the plant based curry and they were bursting with flavourful ingredients. It’s just an annoyance that there were so many vegetarian dishes that could have so easily be veganised. All five of us enjoyed our meals, the service was great - as always - and the cocktails were scrumptious. It is such a shame that the side of Brussels sprouts had butter on them meaning I couldn’t have them, and I absolutely love them so had to miss out for the sake of substituting cow butter with plant butter. But all in all it was a lovely night out and The Ivy put on so many speciality Christmas foods and drinks. If you’re a meat eater you will love this place as the food choices are vast.More infoThe Ivy Marlow GardenPrice: Expensive• Contemporary British• Marlow•4.4
- CChristinaVIPLondon •26 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 13, 2024We had an exceptional dinner experience for 2 . Very modern setting and stunning lake view. Service attentive and warm . We tried both the restaurant menus ( British & Indian) and all dishes were superb - to start we tried the cured ham hock and pistachio roulade, and the Tandoori murg tikka. Both dishes were fresh and very flavourful and delicious. Main courses we tried the chargrilled Sirloin steak with bernaise and delicious hand cut truffle chips, and the bhuna gosht slow cooked lamb with spices - fabulous and just the right level of spice. The Bitter Chocolate tart with caramel ice cream, and the passion fruit cheesecake were the perfect sweet end to the meal. Highly recommend and will definitely visit Glaze Restaurant again.More infoGlaze Restaurant at Crowne Plaza MarlowPrice: Expensive• Contemporary British• Marlow•3.7

We chose 1 vegetarian and 1 meat and were treated to a selection of warm savouries such as pakora, chicken, and tasty wraps all nicely spiced but not too hot with a variety of teas. There was a mango lassi a selection of gorgeous cakes, macaroon and even scones to finish! Didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Highly recommend.More infoAfternoon Tea @ Spice Merchant BeaconsfieldPrice: Expensive• Afternoon Tea• Beaconsfield•3.8
