The pub also offers 4 freshly renovated en-suite boutique hotel rooms, 5 pitches for caravan & motorhome and The Duchess lounge, the old coach house, which has been renovated and converted into a farm shop & tea room. The Duchess lounge is our hidden gem set in The Duke's ground. We offer a homemade selection of cakes, scones, teas & coffee, afternoon tea, cream tea, breakfast, brunch and lunch. The Duchess also offers a great space for private hire. We also have a small farm shop selling local raw honey, organic butter and milk, free-range eggs, fruit and vegetables from nearby farmers, flowers and lots of local produce and hand-crafted gift ideas. I popped to The Duchess during the day and purchased some beautiful cupcakes and flowers for the birthday girl. We were a late booking for a large group of 8 with a number of dietary requirements which were all met without fuss. Our starters were divine including the Caviar and Roe starter which we ordered at the last minute (100% recommend). Everyone very much enjoyed their starters, then on to the mains. I had carelessly left off one of the orders but this was picked up and filled in super quick time, and again without fuss. All 8 meals were absolutely fantastic with the lamb causing the most food envy around the table but with 8 empty plates, everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. I had the celariac which was to die for. We opted not to have desserts as we had a 9 year old with us and had bought the cakes for home already. The drinks options were great, we enjoyed a bottle of Cremant, a much preferred alternative to the age old Prosecco most places serve now. The red wine was lovely and service all round was fantastic. I could not recommend highly enough. This is a fairly new restaurant but they are adventurous with their menu plans, serving delicious food, piping hot with great service on the side. The Peppermill is a 2AA Rosette award wining restaurant situated in The Peppermill Hotel in the centre of Devizes. Really lovely afternoon tea for me and my daughter celebrating her 12th birthday we throughly enjoyed her first experience of after tea.
Superb experience from start to finish. I popped to The Duchess during the day and purchased some beautiful cupcakes and flowers for the birthday girl. We were a late booking for a large group of 8 with a number of dietary requirements which were all met without fuss. Our starters were divine including the Caviar and Roe starter which we ordered at the last minute (100% recommend). Everyone very much enjoyed their starters, then on to the mains. I had carelessly left off one of the orders but this was picked up and filled in super quick time, and again without fuss. All 8 meals were absolutely fantastic with the lamb causing the most food envy around the table but with 8 empty plates, everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. I had the celariac which was to die for. We opted not to have desserts as we had a 9 year old with us and had bought the cakes for home already. The drinks options were great, we enjoyed a bottle of Cremant, a much preferred alternative to the age old Prosecco most places serve now. The red wine was lovely and service all round was fantastic. I could not recommend highly enough. This is a fairly new restaurant but they are adventurous with their menu plans, serving delicious food, piping hot with great service on the side. Kudos to all the team, thank you and well done.
