General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Great service . The food was excellent. One of the best steamed mussels that I have had in a long time. The hot turkey sandwich was very good. The scallops were cooked just right. I would definitely go back.

It was my first time trying plant based restaurant and I really enjoyed each dish. We tried burrata, pappadelle and white truffle agnolotti and finished off with sweet potato cheesecake. They were delicious and all staffs were very kind and attentive. Definitely going back!

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.
