Best Restaurants with Bar Seating in North of Foster / Rogers Park

Nobu was, as Nobu inevitably is...excellent. Opting for the "omakase", Chef Nobu's international influences were on full display. The high quality ingredients are thoughtfully prepared in ways that are as intriguing as they are satisfying. Last night for the first time I had a bone broth nabe mono. It was sublime. I'd lived in Japan for a little over 3 years and never tasted anything quite like it. Pricy? Yes. But worth every penny and perhaps a few more.

This is a very pretty and unique-looking restaurant. It was a weird time to be out for brunch; the lull in the St. Patrick's weekend revelry with terrible weather. Our server was very nice and overall the food and drinks were good.

Omakase is always an exceptional experience, but AJI made our time all the more exemplary through creativity on the plate and care in crafting each bite. A big thanks to our chef for being so eager to discuss the food with us, and a big thanks to Christian for catering to our every need during the evening.

As always. A pleasant and consistent great neighborhood restaurant with 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesday.
