The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Spanning over four floors and with a glorious roof terrace overlooking the River Liffey. The Woollen Mills is quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale. We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a coffee and bun, a plate of Irish fish and chips, a place to score a casual bite befre the nearby theatres and cinemas or sit with seven courses of Irish antipasti, burrata, crab, lamb or cauliflower steak, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge with a fine bottle of red or a craft beer. My friend and I enjoyed a lovely rendez-vous before our film yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. It was our first time using the cafe. The service was excellent, Food was tasty and extremely well presented. The cafe had a delightful "chic old world" feel to it. Overall we were delighted with our meal and the fact that it was a warm and comfortable place to chat before the film. I'll definitely be back as places like this absolutely need to be supported and cherished. Thank you
