Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023. Everything was excellent: the appetizers (Brussels sprouts), the entrees and the dessert. Our entrees were the Brazilian steak and the duck confit. Both entrees were flavorful and the duck was so tender it fell off the bone. We had the pistachio ricotta cake for dessert and it was light and not too sweet. It was quiet in the restaurant and easy to carry on a conversation. No one hurried us through our 2 hour meal. It was a lovely experience all around.

We visit DC eve RT January, and are always looking for restaurant that deserves a repeat visit. We finally found one! Wonderful southern style menu with unique and tasty twists. Definitely try the Sweetbread and Waffles!

The food at Floriana was as good as I have had in DC. The entrance to the restaurant is desceiving as it is a top range lace to eat in DC. I’d you have a a chance to eat here, please do so.
