Best Restaurants for Local Ingredients in Northeast Portland

This was my second time at this restaurant and it was even better than when I first went during their opening week. Also, I was in a larger group and we tried a wide variety of dishes. All of them were delicious and priced appropriately. We will be returning here as regular customers in the future. This is Greek taverna style cuisine at its finest!

Wonderful food, with creative combinations. We really enjoyed the chicken liver tart with jam. The chicories with boquerones was a return to favorite. For mains we returned to the delicious sturgeon. And new to us and excellent was the duck confit. This time we had a desert - the l’orange cake. Nicely not too sweet and an unexpected crunchy coating. Service was excellent.

Once again chef and team at Lilia absolutely killed it! We sat at the counter our favorite spot to watch the Lilia team create magnificent dishes. Every single dish that was put in front of us was beautifully plated and delectable. Lilia is a perfect place to take a date, friend, and family. There is something amazing for every human who enjoys perfectly made food.

The food is always good here. In addition to the server, two other people checked in on our dining experience, so that's really nice. They care about their establishment, and about their customers, and it shows. We had the prawns, the caesar salad, and focaccia bread. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The wine, a recommended alternative, was spot on. Reservations made it simple to arrive and be seated without fuss. Go here. Find your favorite dish. You won't be disappointed.

Another enjoyable meal at the Heathman Tavern. We have been several times now, and it has been consistently good. I had the steak frites and my friend had the salmon and arugula and both were delicious. Our server was delightful and the drinks were good. I still miss the old Heathman Restaurant, but the Tavern is a worthy, less expensive, and more casual successor.
