Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen.     Excellent food - very original and refined I am in total disagreement with the massive main course - but I agree it’s personal and it fits with a Modern American approach Yet for me it caused a brutal breach in what had been so far. Perfect meal - again the direct jump from 2 pounds of meat to desert is harsh On the cocktail side - originality On the wine side - great list - a pity the sommelier does not come to help more - the level of the wine (and its cost) should get us that much Those disappointments should not hide that the place has a great atmosphere and ambiance

    My friend and I had a fabulous experience here, I I’ll definitely be returning. Everything was delicious from the cornbread to the pecan pie, 10s across the board. The service was also top tier, Jakarri had great recommendations and was very attentive.

    This is a really happy place - good food, lively conversations going on all around, good service - and the price is very fair. The location is nicely situated on a fairly busy corner with beautiful windows overlooking downtown DC.

    Amazing amazing amazing - can’t wait to go back. Usually reviews are about the food - which was truly wonderful in taste and presentation and accommodation of gluten intolerance - but service can often enhance or ruin a meal. And in this case the service only enhanced our experience so thanks for a great birthday evening, and the chance to contribute to the victims of the tragic LA wildfires.

    We had reservations for four for bar seating and it was a very pleasant experience. The drinks were delicious and had a twist of Asian flare. The pine nuts in some of the drinks were so delicious it really brought out the flavor of the drinks and the wrapped the combination of the flavors very well. The tuna tartare with the seaweed chips were yummy and the oysters were fresh and delicious. I would definitely come again to relax and catch up with friends and enjoy the ambiance. Although the bar seating was small, it felt very cozy and felt more attended to. I definitely want to come back for their dinner course meal.
