Callie represents Chef Travis Swikard's debut solo project after spending a decade working alongside the esteemed Chef Daniel Boulud in New York City.     Our experience at Covewood was good, would’ve been great if we had a different server. He was polite, but the manager and the gentlemen who I’m assuming was the busser checked on us more than our server did. I was not happy with the mojito I ordered, so I asked the “busser” if I could swap for a different drink. He said no problem, and our server brought out the replacement. There was no apology, no checking on what was wrong with it. When we left, the server pretty much just took our money and walked away. No “thank you for coming in” or “have a great night”. Service from the manager and “busser” was fantastic, but service from our server (pretty sure his name was Stephen) was less than average. Tried several times to call and talk to a manager but every time it went to their answering machine.

    The spouse & I were visiting my daughter, who lives in San Diego. She had not been to Madison & neither had we. We all enjoyed the tomato & burrata appetizer. We also had the cioppino, Tuscan sausage rigatoni & chicken piccata; all were so good! Spouse & I had the Ibarra & The Woodsman, which were delicious. Service from Kylee excellent. We also enjoyed the music. My daughter plans to bring her roommates here.

    Hector the part owner of the restaurant and his staff did an excellent customer service. It was our first time dining in the restaurant and was also my birthday celebration. Hector took the time to explain the history of restaurant and what to expect. He gave us a tour of the restaurant as well. We will definitely be back for the delicious steak, empanadas and fried calamari we had.

    my parents are in town visiting, and we brought them here. Not only was everyone lovely, the food was delicious. Everything on the menu seems like it was a conscious choice, and each piece of the meal tasted delicious. We usually don’t order dessert when we go out, but we did this time and didn’t regret it.
