Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in San Leandro

Food + beverage pairing was just exceptional. Hats off to the team here —every dish was impeccable, with the maitake tamale as a highlight. The cocktail and wine pairings were unique and so well chosen. Service was warm and thoughtful — everyone was on the same wavelength and I’d happily be friends with the whole crew. General vibe of the space itself could be improved, but we loved sitting at the counter close to the action in the kitchen. Mago is doing something special. Don’t miss it.

Super fun upscale but homey soul food. Recommend the chicken liver and waffles and corn bread. The beet salad with a rich creamy dressing was both light with amazing herbs and hearty. We had excellent recommendations for wine along with dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the retro ambiance and dishes too. My partner said one of the plates they served food on was what their parents had when they were a kid!

We had a nice experience, our waitress was extremely busy, but she was very sweet. I had the turkey dinner and it was good and the sweet potatoes and stuffing were really, the mashed potatoes and gravy were pretty good. I was surprised overall we all had a very good Thanksgiving dinner at Black Angus our first time ever having a holiday dinner at a restaurant. I don’t eat a whole lot so I still had a lot to bring home any later, but I was so full for the rest of the night. I couldn’t eat anything else. Also, the pumpkin pie was pretty good. My granddaughter tore that up and I had a bite and it was very good.

Wonderful experience and delicious each and every plate. I can’t wait to go back even just to sit at the bar for a cocktail and some duck rolls! It’s been a while since covid to experience a restaurant where the staff genuinely cares and provides top-notch dining service even though we had 2 kids with us for our special Pre-Thanksgiving occasion.

Had an extraordinary dining experience with their 10-course meal with their fabulous wine pairing. I really appreciated the wines chosen so thoughtfully that enhanced and complimented the flavors of each dish and was happy to discover some wonderful international wines. Truly a once in a lifetime luxurious experience. Thank you Commis for making my 60th birthday celebration so memorable and special.
