Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in The Annex

We came in somewhat skeptical after feeling underwhelmed with Alobar and Alouette but Alo impressed on all fronts. Alo had incredibly friendly and effective serving staff and noise was kept to a comfortable conversational volume. The food was incredible and service was timed impeccably so you never felt that you were waiting nor rushed. There were zero misses with the plates and at least half of them will go down as all time favourites for myself. The seafood dishes in particular (of which there were many) were well balanced with exceptionally high quality ingredients. 10/10 I plan on going again in the future.

unique steak house experience. The Jewish twist with traditional side dishes (cabbage, beets, pickle platter) were great. the star of the meal was the pastrami and a close second the shake and bake chicken. Great cocktails (Franks Gibson with horseradish!!!). amazing closer: babka. oh my. sooo good.

This restaurant deserves all the accolades it has received and should continue to receive. We went last night for continued birthday celebrations for my son and we couldn’t have chosen a better way to cap it all off. Not only was the food exceptional, the service was beyond. A glass was never empty, the napkins were always folded the moment you got up from the table, the pace of dishes and clean up between courses was never hesitant. There was no pretentiousness, just a good time and seamless execution. And thank you for listening to your clients. The birthday wishes were so appreciated. Thank you.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at DaNico! The food and wine pairing was an incredible experience and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to all our family and friends for a special occasion or a memorable night. Really good service, we were in a rush at the end and the server was really accommodating on our schedule. We got the winterlicious menu and the food is fantastic as usual. The pork belly melt in your mouth 🤤 the restaurant is kinda loud considering the price range of the restaurant, but it helps that we have a bigger group and the seating is much less crowded than 2 people table.
