Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Union Square

Restaurant is nice. Pork chop was think and precut, not much flavor. Sauce had little flavor. Mushrooms and risotto were very good. Shrimp appetizer delicious. Offered a taste of a bourbon sold there, too much of an alcohol bite at the end, not my taste. Old Fashioned was good. Just cocktails, no beer or wine, I prefer the latter with a meal.

We were warmly welcomed, enjoyed aperitifs at the bar, and then went upstairs for our Pasta Tasting menu with wine pairings. It was heavenly from beginning to end! Kudos to our attentive and friendly staff, who described each course in detail, as well as describing each wine pairing. Special thanks to Henry, our primary server, who made each course extra special and described each wine pairing. The wait staff was professional. welcoming, and added extra charm to the evening. For me, it was the kick-off to my birthday season, full of delight and delectable food and wine. Babbo deserves every accolade in the book, except for too-dim lighting. Can't wait to return! A wide variety of tasty small plates and accompanying wines. We especially enjoyed the Fideos, Arroz, and Razor Clams. Both the server and the sommelier were very knowledgeable and steered our table to good choices. The only minor drawback is that the space is tight and the lighting dim - a disservice to seeing the well plated dishes.

I have been to this restaurant several time in the past year...always leave happy. Great food, ambience and service.

The food was very good. Delicious PEI Pink moon oysters and other great selections. Hamachi crudo was great and I love the idea of local fresh ingredients. I’m glad we came- the halibut was a little too hard on the outside for me but the inside was nicely cooked. Brussels and potato purée were simply delicious. The brûlée cheesecake and cappuccino to finish helped power the 20 block walk home! It’s up there with the best of the restaurants I’ve been to. Prices were a little high but that’s what you expect in NYC.
