Best Romantic Restaurants in Kawaihae

Excellent service, setting and good. More than worth the beautiful drive.

Our meal was outstanding. Four of us had dinner and although expensive, every bite was worth it. Good service provided by Sylvia. The burrata salad, Kauai shrimp, steak, and ahi tuna all extremely delicious.The dessert Bombe and chocolate soufflé were both wonderful too The surf was rough- so the walk down the steps to look for mantas did not reveal any in the light set up. However, all in all, this was a great fancy dinner for our last night in Hawaii !

My favorite on the island. I love the food, the service and Thor, the manager. Nothing impacts the quality of the food or the experience. I’ve had other high end, expensive island restaurants tell me that they were off bc it’s a busy week. Meridia is imperturbable. Their commitment to great food and great service never waivers. Micheal was our server the last few times we were in and he is excellent!

This was a great family, friendly dinner spot. You can’t beat the location itself, on the beach. However, the restaurant is being remodeled-which really didn’t matter to us. However there are portable bathrooms and some privacy construction screens. Food was fine, not amazing but fine. Kids menu was good.

We were staying across the street at the Westin Hapuna and we’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant. Less to choose from in the Kohala area than we thought. Engawa is located across the street a short, five minute walk very convenient. The couple that manages and runs the Omakase experience is very enjoyable very authentic really a lot of fun . They are the ONLY sake Brewery in Hawaii. Thanks small craft beer, sucking style. Omakase menu was delightful with a broad array of flavors and taste all for quality We added the sake pairings. Try it!
