The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian.     We really enjoyed Raas! Our server, Jess, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and guided us to some interesting dishes with wonderful flavors. We especially loved the appetizers (shout out kale and spinach chaat and smoked eggplant chokah!) and the Pomfret (worth the de-bonjng effort!). The restaurant is homey and lovely. We highly recommend Raas—a great experience all around!

    From the minute you walk into Heirloom you’re treated as someone special. Our server, Katie was outstanding by explaining the menu items and serving everything from drinks to dessert and everything in between at a welcoming pace. Whenever we decide to have an enjoyable evening of dining, we go to Heirloom. Thanks for another wonderful experience!

    this was a great experience! ambiance was fantastic. Dan, our server was very friendly and attentive. my dish was a bit salty. we did notice that Chef was not flexible on any requests to omit an ingredient (even with a dietary restriction). We heard disappointment with other tables too. We understand that during peak season the team is unable to push dishes out in a timely manner but this is off season! all in all, 5 forks up overall but flexibility gets one fork taken away.

    Another delicious experience at Bramble and Brine at the Buttery. We were greeted and seated by David and sampled our wine and ordered those delectable gluten free biscuits while we perused the menu. We decided on the Escargot which is prepared with three different types of butter. I chose the Caesar salad with the dredged oysters and the crispy anchovies, a new favorite. The lettuce was so tender and delicious and the dressing was amazingly flavorful without being overpowering. My husband chose the Scallops over risotto which were delicious, and very filling, he brought some home, along with some biscuits and some of my Caesar. We spent a moment chatting with Michael the bartender who takes such good care of us and of course Jahra and Miles . What a great team and what a great dining g experience! See you next time!
