- JJamieVancouver / British Columbia •20 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis was probably one of the best lunches I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I have been to an Ivy restaurant before in Windsor on my last trip to the UK but I don't remember it being quite this good. The food was extraordinary, service impeccable, and because I was by myself, I was able to observe the staff and how they operate. It was so fascinating watching such a well-oiled machine. I used to work in hospitality and it was a delight to watch. Mimi was incredible and so wonderful to chat with, she even picked up that I was Canadian, not American. The dessert was to die for as well. The whole experience really made my day. Not to mention the decor of The Ivy is just incredible. Even the bathroom was amazing. Highly recommend this chain if you are ever in UK, they have many locations to choose from. Cheers.More infoThe Ivy on the SquarePrice: Expensive• Contemporary British• Old Town•4.4

- MMatthewEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 28, 2024A beautiful festive treat. We felt like we’d walked into a Parisian bistro somewhere off Place de la Republic. All the food was awesome (my bourguignon with buttery mash was delicious) and the drinks (rum old fashioned, bottle of Corbiere) were perfect. Add in an attentive service, great ambience and a wedding party, wandering through to rapturous applause, and we had everything to make this a highly memorable and enjoyable lunchtime. Highly recommended. Magnifique!More infoCafé St HonoréPrice: Very Expensive• French• New Town•4.6
- CColinEdinburgh/Midlothian •4 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 7, 2024The food was excellent. Simple Italian done well. However there were significant issues with the service. Our mains were presented to us whilst still eating our starters. We weren’t at all slow so there was no apparent reason. We sent away the first server and then a couple of minutes later another appeared with the plates again! They did not appreciate that what they were doing was wrong. It was a busy Saturday and maybe the serving staff were not fully experienced, certainly their reaction, or lack of understanding, might suggest this. However, I suspect the real issue was in the kitchen as the waiting staff would just deliver whatever was brought to the pass. I don’t know but it really took the shine off a family meal that was celebrating my significant birthday.More infoRagù PastaPrice: Moderate• Italian• New Town•4.4
