A lovely pub with good food, good service and a nice atmosphere. We were 2 friends catching up and were able to take time over our meal and enjoy conversation without too much noise around us. A good experience

A friend and I went on Christmas Eve for lunch and both our meals were superb. I did have to send my meal back initially though as it was barely tepid. In January when we visited for lunch again, the fish of the day was rather overcooked and everything on the plate was tepid even though the vegetables were delicious. I will try one more time and if the meal is the same I may not return sadly.

As usual food was excellent. The ambience is lovely with locals and visitors interacting. Lovely log fire and warm and welcoming y the staff

We had a lovely unhurried Sunday lunch, from the moment you arrive the staff are friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous and the crepe suzette cooked at the table a real treat.

The food was generally OK however my 'toast' with my pate was just literally a bit of bread that had been shown the chargrill for about a minute and no part was crisp. The rest of the food was great the service however was slooooow, drinks took ages to arrive, the rest of the food arrived in a reasonable time but clearing took a while and took us about 15 mins to pay the bill after it had arrived.
