Located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, TAKOI is known for modern Thai cooking accented with Michigan seasonality, a DIY mentality, and a penchant for local food production. As a core pillar of our mission, TAKOI operates HiO Farm which is located just a mile north of the restaurant. During the height of farm season, the restaurant highlights dishes prepared with HiO produce utilizing the techniques and flavors inspired by Thailand and beyond. TAKOI, originally KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan Avenue in March of 2016. After being open for 11 months, having a slew of fun, and garnering a handful of awards — including a James Beard 'Best New Restaurant' nomination— KATOI was brought back down to earth when it was subjected to arson in February 2017. The day after the fire, the rebuild began, and we opened as TAKOI exactly six months later in August 2017.

The Caucus Club, located in the Penobscot Building, is an historic, stylish art deco masterpiece featuring two distinct dining spaces, historic bar and live Jazz. The front entrance leads guests to the elegant front dining room with the stage being the focal point. The back entrance leads to the dark and moody back room and bar with space for mingling, cocktails and dining. Adjacent to the bar entrance is the Caucus Club Kitchen, fully viewable from the hallway of the Penobscot building.The menu centers around the in-house dry-aging room, yielding Prime Steaks and Chops expertly butchered on site. The balance of the menu features seafood and eclectic dishes that change with the seasons. Lunch has its own unique offerings, and the Bar offers distinct offerings for Happy Hour.     My wife and I had their Valentine’s Day diner. The service was exceptional, I expected waits and delays on a busy night like that but was pleasantly surprised when all of our food seemed to show up at the perfect time. The food was of course delicious as to be expected from these types of restaurants. The ambiance was great with live jazz music. We will be coming again.

    Our server Brea was very attentive and so nice. We were there around noon on Valentine’s Day. The meats were mostly medium rare. I’m not a fan of very red meat. Also the variety of meats could have been a little more. No top or bottom sirloin. I get it we were there for “lunch” but a special occasion like Valentine’s Day , they could’ve offered a couple more meats. All in all, me and my bride of 35 years enjoyed our date and meal

    Everything was amazing. Our server (I’m so sorry I forgot their name) was really knowledgeable and helpful when we were deciding what to get. All of our food was perfect, the sea bream is amazing if you’re a seafood lover. My husband does not drink and they had a very wide selection of NA cocktails which was super cool. I love Thai tea and their cocktail Special Tea was a great alcoholic take on the drink. Love, thank you for a great (early) Valentine’s Day dinner for us. :)

    Came here for the second consecutive year to celebrate my birthday tonight. Our second visit was just as delicious and enjoyable as our first. We got the beet salad, halloumi, their flatbread special, bucatini and the walleye. Every single dish had amazing flavour and decent portions. They also gave me a little birthday dessert which was a really nice way to end the meal. The cocktails were also really good-especially “I yam what I yam” was super unique and truly so tasty! Cant wait to come back next year!

    My Dad and I wanted to try somewhere new and we are so happy we came to Presley’s! Alex was our server and she was wonderful and Briana the manager was very attentive and helpful also! We will most definitely be back!
