An extraordinary evening of fine dining and a great way to celebrate a birthday!

The pesto appetizer is excellent. We oedred the Crab Brandada and the Chicken Livers, and both were delicious. Also delicious was the decaf coffee we had. His is a place I recommend to my friends because they know how to cook and how to run a classy restaurant.

DG was not making eggplant parma on 2/14, a staple on their menu, and they were out of the tortellini at 6PM, not acceptable. Veal was very good. Wine was overpriced. Nicely decorated for Valentine's Day. Will try again when the eggplant is back on the menu.

Visited on Valentine’s Day and was not disappointed. Cocktails at the bar, Gin Blossom and an Old Fashioned. The barman made a wonderful recommendation for a rye whisky. Dinner after was Halibut and Lamb Ragu. My wife said the halibut was cooked perfectly. My lamb ragu was very tasty. Staff were very attentive throughout. We have supported Scratch a lot since lockdown, possibly the nicest venue on Castro if you like a stylish venue with good food and quality drinks. Ambiance can suffer though if it is quiet.

These guys at La Fontaine are great. They always deliver on service and quality, especially service. If I ever eat at other “fancy type” places, a thought always crosses my mind that I could be getting more and better flavor for less money and treated better at La Fontaine. Cocktails are great too.
