We had four courses chosen off the regular menu accompanied by wine pairings explained by the sommelier, Matt, who loved his job. It was not unlike an interesting history lesson. Great food! I agree with my husband who said that they really know how to season. I have to add they know how to add an unexpected ingredient that made what would have been a mundane mushroom risotto pop. It was just the right, small amount of pickled mushrooms sprinkled on top. While the crabcake was huge, lump and traditionally prepared. Where it wasn’t required they didn’t over season or do anything just to do something new. Nothing seemed like an afterthought. Fine dining at its best. We are both looking forward to going back.More infoOceanaPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Midtown West•4.7

- JJudyNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoThis cozy spot on the lower east side is very trendy with its gem named cocktails and seasonal menus. It is clearly incredibly popular as tables turn over quickly and there is never an empty seat. The food comes quickly and is deeply flavorful. The menu consists of dishes that can be harder to find, even in a cultural hub like NYC. I do wonder if lunch service is a little less bustling as at times I found it difficult to hear my dinner partner. I also wish they would tell you about the QR code for the food menu as it is on a physical drinks menu and that’s a bit confusing. Overall I’m glad I made it to Soothr and look forward to trying their sister restaurant Sappe soon.More infoSoothrPrice: Expensive• Thai• East Village•4.7

Special shout out to Khalid during tea service and Lauren at the bar who made one of the best ever holiday specialty drinks, the “Holiday Spirt”. The doorman was especially helpful while hailing a cab and assisting with our holiday shopping bags.More infoThe Palm Court at The Plaza HotelPrice: Very Expensive• American• Midtown East•4.4
