He made good recommendations when asked. Decor is neutral tones. Love that the tables aren't on-top of each other. Lends to having table-only conversations. Food, while unique offerings, was very rich. We ordered the broccolini to thin/healthy the meal out, but it was so covered in toppings that it was hard to identify. That was the only item we didn't end up eating. The calamari were so light and crispy. Not at all chewy. They were perfectly cooked. Our server stated that the idea was to eat family style so everyone gets a taste, but it's certainly not a must. That said, everyone was interested to taste each item...including the final course, a pistachio sundae. Not cheap, but nothing in Scottsdale is.More infoÉlephante ScottsdalePrice: Moderate• Italian• North Scottsdale•4.6

Two standout aspects, that you don't see much these days, was a live music performer in the bar/lounge, and an attendant in the Men's Restroom. Only minor nitpick I have was that the bartender staff did not introduce themselves by name when I sat down.More infoMastro's City Hall SteakhousePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Old Town Scottsdale•4.6
- OTOpenTable DinerIowa •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoDining at Cafe Monarch is similar to enjoying a wonderful performance. It reminds me of restaurants in Europe, where the waitstaff take their career seriously and see you, as the dining guest, as special, not just a number to be herded through as quickly as possible. During our 3 hour dining experience, we enjoyed the 8 course menu, which was excellent. My companion had the vegetarian, while I had the standard menu. Both were excellent with us truly enjoying 7/8 dishes. The waitstaff are extremely attentive but not disruptive and make the whole experience enjoyable. While it is very expensive for 8 small courses, we both left satisfied. Given that it was a 3 hour experience, I would consider it more than just "dinner" and just that, an experience. I will return againMore infoCafe MonarchPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Old Town Scottsdale•4.9
