Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in New Braunfels

We’ve been dining here for several years now. The menu hasn’t changed and they rarely have specials. Today I was disappointed to learn about the special AFTER my meal, when I heard our waitress telling it to the newly seated table next to us. I was so bummed! I would’ve ordered it if I had known about it, because I’ve become bored with the menu. (The only reason we were there is because our son wanted to eat there while he was home from college.) I’ll remember to ask about any specials next time I’m there.

Both my wife and I had small steaks (6 oz) a salad comes with the steak, , baked potato, a half bottle of wine, and one dessert. Cost with tip was just shy of $140. Seems a lot. The restaurant is extremely dark. Service was very good. The steaks were excellent. The salad unimaginative. The dessert was good.

I loved the lobster tails, scampi style & thought the pasta was a wonderful accompaniment. Also the chopped salad was crisp & had the perfect amount of salad dressing. The only downer was the red fish crudo. The main flavor was an overwhelming lime taste. It would've been much better in a "tears of the tiger" sauce or with some wasabi to make it more sushi-like. Serving it with crackers would help also and the avocados were unsalted. I've tried almost the whole Red Ash menu - the crudo is my least favorite dish. Try any of the other appetizers instead!

Fun restaurant. Best beef fajitas I have tasted in awhile. Great margaritas! Only complaint is a little pricey. We paid over $55 for a pound of fajitas and it came with a tiny single serving of tasty black beans but no rice.
