10/10, blew away my expectations and I already had high expectations. Went for brunch with. my family, and every single person (including the kids) was overjoyed with how amazing the food was. We love being able to watch the chefs do their thing in the kitchen!

It was my first time at Akira Back for my anniversary and I was taken aback. Firstly, the ambience is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail, a modern design and low lighting - perfect for a date night! Our server Rishi was extremely attentive throughout the night, providing recommendations, free champagne and dessert with a personalized anniversary note handwritten across the plate. She also was so detail-oriented as to fold my fiancé's napkin when he went to the bathroom. Three different servers made a point to wish us a "Happy Anniversary," which we were grateful for. Next, the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the Grilled Alaskan King Crab (the presentation was stellar and taste was A+) and any of the sushi rolls! The tuna just melts in your mouth. Ugh! We also had the Miso Black Cod which was glazed in a sweet, buttery sauce. The Ribeye was good but not great because all the others were so unique compared to what we're used to when dining out. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Though this is not a cheap place to eat, it's so worth it for a special occasion. Also bonus points for the photo ops in the staircase!

Their ability to anticipate needs and personalize the evening makes the meal even more special. The ambiance is intimate and elegant, with a warm, modern design that makes you feel at ease while still maintaining an air of sophistication. Watching the chefs at work in the open kitchen adds to the experience, highlighting the precision and artistry that goes into every dish. Overall, Alo delivers on every level—flawless food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes the entire experience feel effortless.

We finally tried Alo after hearing much great things. We sat at “The Bar at Alo” for a St-Valentines fixed menu. The Service was outstanding from all staff and the food / cocktails were indeed deserving of their Michelin Star. Ambiance and decor in the bar area was a bit dark for our taste. I found the prices to be a bit steep, but not outside the norm at this level. The wine pairing was interesting and will get two of their featured bottles. However, I wonder why they chose to feature a US bottle in their pairing at this particular time. Overall great experience, will likely try their main dining area in the near future.

I made the right decision. After years of wanting to experience this restaurant, I made it for a winterlicious dinner. Firstly, portion sizes did NOT disappoint. I was shocked. I was full before I got halfway through my main. The fried snapper and Guyanese curry absolutely deserves a spot on the main menu. I'm a curry snob and this was perfection. It will definitely stay on my mind. The drinks were really good. I had a Georgetown Gyal and before finishing the first, I ordered another. Our waitress, Nia, was excellent. She was attentive, cleared plates quickly and so personable. The music was great, and had me dancing and singing between bites the whole night. Clearly I'm passionate about food and dining, but this experience was truly top tier and have not a single complaint. KEEP THE CURRY!!! Thanks to everyone involved!
