Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. Lovely lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great food, lovely friendly service. We had the roast dinner (vegan option) and it was so tasty and well cooked. We followed this with desserts - which were also excellent - chocolate genache and Lemon posset. House red (Malbec) was very good according to the drinkers. This is a lovely chilled restaurant serving high quality food and offering great service. We felt welcomed and looked after. We will return.

Had a Christmas lunch meal with colleagues . The food was excellent , quality , presentation , value for money all excellent. Restaurant was recommended by a friend , was really pleasantly surprised , have had lots of Caribbean island trips / food and this was exceptional. I would def. recommend and hope to be going again to mullins . The service was excellent , staff all really friendly and helpful.
