The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. The venue itself is inviting, but parking can be a bit of a hassle. There’s no dedicated lot, so guests are left to find metered street parking. A little planning ahead makes for a smoother experience.

This was our second time eating at MV. The service is truly outstanding. The wait staff was never far from our table and accessible if needed. They don't rush you to order or eat. All the food was tasty and presented well in the plates and in generous portions. I had hoped for a scingili dish that I'd had before, but it was not on the menu that night. The shrimp dish I chose was great. Yes, we will go again.
