The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience. We had a lovely lunch- food was very tasty and good value. Service was excellent- the waitress was attentive but also gave us time… we never felt rushed and enjoyed just being there! A really good experience- it felt special. We will definitely be coming back!

Very lovely setting, very relaxing , tables not to near to each other, background music not to loud. Nice and clean. The food was excellent, top quality ingredients, expertly cooked and well presented. All the staff were very welcoming and polite and helpful. Very reasonably priced for the quality and service. Looking forward to returning.

We attended as part of Norfolk Restaurant Week The menu, which we had viewed before , had plenty of good options and we had the assiette of goat's cheese, followed by the pork and the lamb, with sticky toffee pudding to follow. The starter was excellent, the mains very good and the pudding good. The staff were pleasant, engaging and attentive. The main course took a little long to arrive, but they were very busy and we had arrived early, so we didn't mind at all. All in all a very good experience.
