My wife and I took two friends out for dinner at Max downtown to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our server, Abel, was as good as they come. Our dinners were perfectly prepared: two shrimp dishes and two simply prepared salmon dishes. Max Downtown has earned its great reputation over a long period of time, a very difficult thing to do in a restaurant business. Everyone including owners, managers, chefs, servers and greeters are all pleasant. All in all, Max Downtown is always at the top of its game.

Excellent food all around. Chilean sea bass special was light and flavorful. Everyone else ordered off the regular menu and enjoyed their meal. Server was attentive, energetic, and efficient. She brought a sample of the soup special that said spicy so we could determine if the level of spice was ok. One of my favorite restaurants in Hartford area!
