Best Fun Restaurants in Old Irving Park

Sat at the counter, so we got to see the chefs making the food. Service was fast, we didn’t wait long for water or drinks. Ramen was served as soon as it was done by the chef himself. It was super hot, delicious, perfect amount of food. We finished our bowls, and left comfortably full, not-super-duper-can’t-move full. Looking forward to trying the rice sides and the rotating special ramens next. Worth it, we’ll be back.

We dined on a Monday night; 1/2 priced bottles of wine… need I say more?! We shared the Peking duck for 2 and, and, sat at the very small and cozy bar. The Duck was so flavorful and cooked to perfection, we had the seasonal squash soup; which is just spicy enough to be interesting and satisfying but, not so much that it overwhelms- the service is quick and efficient and the room is small and charming- the best French bistro in Chicago!

We enjoy visiting Santa Baby's bar every holiday season. The pizza we had for lunch was fantastic! Love the lights and all the offerings available.

This place is fantastic! Don’t let the unassuming old school diner look fool you - food and service here were top notch. Took my bestie here for her first night out since having a baby and although we may not have, this place kept it classy! Our group of 4 arrived, having already imbibed, quite rambunctious and ready to take it further. The server handled us and the situation with grace. Yasmin was kind and patient as she took our order and played it cool when the topic of drinks came up. Without drawing attention, they kept the waters flowing and the fried appetizers coming. The food was a surprise and delight as each dish ordered arrived looking different than any of us had imagined. Potted carrots, frito misto, and the grapes in the ravioli were just a few of the delights. Was it the pre-game, or is this a fun menu? We may never know. That said, they didn’t make a scene when my friend lost her napkin 6x or had red lipstick on her face and hands, or when the new mom pulled the pumps off at the table. If you saw us, no you didn’t. While we eventually redeemed ourselves enough to be allowed 1 round of drinks with our pasta dishes, we left quietly and on our own accord, ensuring Yasmin was given an additional tip on top of the included 25% gratuity. First time here to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was a wonderful experience! The food was fresh and delicious. Our server Kaneen was awesome and very attentive. We will definitely be coming back !
