- SShannynCalgary / Southern Alberta •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe food was absolutely delicious. Shared many different plates with friends including the roasted carrots (to die for), the beets, the tomato burrata ( warmed and so much flavor), the cabbage, the ahi tuna, the chicken, the steak and the scallops. Finished with sharing a piece of coconut cake and the butterscotch pudding. All amazing!More infoTen Foot HenryPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Canadian• Calgary•4.8
- TTedCalgary / Southern Alberta •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThree of us recently dined at Vero for the first time. I decided to take a moment to write a review since we were all very impressed with the quality of the service, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the attention to detail. Two of us had the surf and turf platter and the other had the tagliatelle puttanesca. We also had some olives to start and tiramisu to finish. The suggested wine pairing with the platter was spot on and was not overly expensive. After the first few bites, it soon became apparent that the chef was able to capitalize on the quality and marriage of the ingredients for flavour so did not need to use excessive salt, sweetness or butter as a crutch. While the pasta and the platter offerings were all terrific, I thought the lamb stood out. It was exceptional. Dining at Vero is not cheap but I think it is good value considering the outstanding quality of the food and service. I will definitely be back. By the way, I'm almost positive that I saw Mr. Frank Wong dining at a nearby table. Frank Wong seems to have disappeared from the scene over the past decade or so, but some foodies may recall that "back in the day" Frank Wong was one of the country's most discerning yet reclusive food critics. The fact that Frank Wong chooses to dine at Vero is high praise indeed.More infoVero Bistro ModernePrice: Moderate• Italian• Calgary•4.8

- MMichelleVIPCalgary / Southern Alberta •28 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoIt was a most wonderful lunch with a very dear friend! It was a celebration lunch of friendship and also the retirement of my surgical oncologist who I was going to one last time before he is done on December 23rd. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate that than at the River Cafe!! I had the Flank Steak and my friend had the burger and they were both truly exceptional!! The steak just melted in my mouth and the accompaniments were perfect! The burger was scrumptious…complete with juices running down your fingers as you ate it, as every good burger should be! We didn’t have room for dessert but a delicious cappuccino was still in order! It truly is a magical place to be…wonderful atmosphere, attentive & friendly staff and always mouth watering food!!More infoRiver CaféPrice: Expensive• Canadian• Calgary•4.6
