- LLauraVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •41 reviews5.0Dined todayWe absolutely know we will be treated like royalty when we visit Old Fisherman’s Grotto. Once again they delivered. Sal made us feel like family. We started with calamari and artichokes with a nice drink from the bar. The calamari was crispy with the sauces adding a bit of excitement to each bite. The artichoke was creamy and rich. Bread and butter was served. We felt relaxed and never in a hurry. After the appetizer we put in the order for dinner, double lobster tails for him and 1/2 crab, salmon and grilled shrimp for me. We were both so happy with our meals. Dessert was the cherry on top, ollalieberry pie a la mode for him and and beautiful chocolate and vanilla cake with strawberries for me. Our water was constantly refilled. The view of the harbor was also very relaxing. I can’t wait until we are in town again to enjoy the hospitality once again.More infoOld Fisherman's GrottoPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Monterey•4.7
- AAndrewPortland / Oregon •1 review4.0Dined 5 days agoFirst of all, the seasonally freshfFood was outstanding, and the decor was on point. The menu had changed from what I saw online, and many of the dishes that were labeled gluten free had been changed and were no longer gluten free. The was the first bit of dissappointment, because I had planned my order around what was available. The service was prompt but they brought out the wrong dish for our table neighbors and to us, for exactly the same pinxtos; a substitution of a plate of three smaller dishes(pickled veggies, marcona almonds, and spanish olives) versus the larger order of just spanish olives that we ordered. The termperature for the inside seating was slightly colder than I expected. I realise that being a tapas place they expect you to order wine or mixed cocktails to keep you warm while you eat. The customers around us averaged an age of 65-70, and so I expected the temperature to be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer. I looked warmer on the patio with the heaters blazing with the temperature outside being closer to 45 to 50 degrees that night.More infoEstéban Restaurant at Casa Munras Garden Hotel & SpaPrice: Expensive• Spanish• Monterey•4.1
- AAllisonVIPSan Diego •11 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoAmazing service from start to finish beginning at the hostess stand. We never had to worry about whether our server was coming back to check on us, he also had an assistant server who cleared plates and checked in on us as well. (The check in’s were not overbearing). Food was phenomenal, we had the 14h NY strip, clams, oysters, olive bread & sea salt and a bottle of Daou Cab. Great ambiance, cool setting - there is even a display of oysters on the wall with rocks behind a metal bar caging. The bathroom also had a unique approach to soap- used an essential oil infused salt! Highly recommended and will definitely return on our next trip to Monterey!More infoSalt Wood Kitchen and OysterettePrice: Moderate• Unspecified• Marina•4.6

- MMarkVIPMiami - Dade •11 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 1, 2024What is a 3 star Michelin Restaurant? According to the Michelin guide: A three-star restaurant is one that offers “exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.” My wife and I travel over 2500 miles each year to celebrate our wedding anniversary at nowhere else other than the Coastal Kitchen with Chef Michael Rotondo and his wonderful staff. From the initial warm and friendly greeting from Conrad the Maitre D’ Hotel and Sommelier you will be experiencing a 5 course tasting delight never to be experienced anywhere else on the Monterey Peninsula! Chef Michael makes it a point to welcome each guest table before dinner service to ensure they are ready for culinary experience like no other and ensures there are no allergens to affect their tasting experience. For an additional charge, each course will be paired with an exceptional wine to highlight the nuisances of every dish. Rachel our wine server had extensive knowledge of each wine served and made the pairing so much more enjoyable. Jesus and Eli our food servers were always on point and added to the attentiveness of the entire staff! We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the quality of the food served at every course. The Basque cheese cake was off the chart! The French Laundry was an icon of the Napa Valley in its day but the new rising icon of the Monterey Peninsula is the Coastal Kitchen! Thank You Chef Michael and the Monterey Plaza Hotel for a wonderful 3 star Michelin dining experience! The Coastal Kitchen truly offers exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey!More infoCoastal Kitchen MontereyPrice: Very Expensive• Farm-to-table• Monterey•4.6
