Johnny’s Downtown, opened in 1993, is similar to the original Johnny’s Bar on Fulton Road, featuring pasta, veal and fish. The setting, a refurbished 1860’s Warehouse District building, formerly a general store, is the drinking and dining spot of locals and business people alike. This is the model for a great seafood restaurant… came here serendipitously two years ago not expecting anything.. was shocked a restaurant this good could be so far from an ocean. Returned today… hoping it was still great. It is. The staff greeted us warmly as if we were well-liked regulars. The atmosphere softly lit, with every table full, yet without feeling over-crowded. The menu just right… all the favorites.. with nice touches and specials… all fresh. Dessert offerings were solid… and maybe that best describes this restaurant… a solid 9 out of 10. It would hold its own in Manhattan, Miami Beach , Boston or LA.

Our waiter was a young man, home from college and working at the restaurant. He was delightful and made sure we were well taken care of. A lovely dinner, the best clam pasta I've ever eaten and fabulous cannolli!
