"The Canny Man's in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through 5 generations of the Kerr family. As famous chef Rick Stein said 'The Canny Man's is the best pub in the world.'The establishment is well known far and wide for it’s quirky nature and ‘never’ changing décor. The interior sees every nook and cranny filled with everything from moose heads to muskets, sheet music to stuffed animals. A genuinely one of a kind bar and restaurant. The restaurant specialises in the best Scottish produce with a strong focus on local suppliers. Alongside this they have a well stocked gantry of over a 200 malt whiskies and a large wine list. The Canny Man's is very much a unique experience in Edinburgh and not to be missed."

Up market restaurant in Edinburgh. Small portion tapas style plates, beautifully executed. We particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon, the BBQ broccoli, and the crab on crumpet. The venue and staff made for a lovely evening in Edinburgh.

The Cafe Royal is one of Edinburgh’s classic Cafe/Pub/Restaurant which has maintained its stunning Victorian exterior and interior with a beautiful oval bar in other centre of the Café Pub area and stained glass windows in the Oyster Bar restaurant . We had a graduation dinner in the Oyster bar and all our food was excellent and something for everyone , especially those who are fond of shellfish .The steaks were cooked to perfection and the vegetable Thai green curry delicious . The service and atmosphere were also superb . The only problem was the temperature : it was a cold evening and most of us had to keep our coats on for the duration of the meal . However , this will not deter me from going again as the Café Royal is iconic and my family have celebrated many occasions here for generations .

Great food and service. Nice place. Only issue was not being able to taste a house wine (which they sold by the glass) before buying a bottle. Small issue. Didn’t detract from an excellent experience
