Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, (1833-1849), the first American fur trade post in Colorado. The Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Kiowa and Pawnee traded and intermarried at Bent's Old Fort, creating an economic and peaceful exchange of cultures in an otherwise violent West. The Fort building is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and celebrates the many cultures that traded at Bent's Old Fort. Our menu features "New Foods of the Old West" including the best cuts of buffalo, elk and quail, grilled to perfection. There are vegetarian options inspired by American Indian recipes including Corn Beans and Squash, known as the Three Sacred Sisters. The wine list is awarded the Wine Spectator each year, and the nine dining rooms, with intimate seating, has a 350 seat capacity, with real adobe "beehive "fireplaces that burn wood in the winter and fall months. Romantic. Amazing views of the Valley and Mountains!

Acova is writing the next chapter of one of Denver’s great neighborhoods. An iconic locale in a historic district, Acova builds on the rich story of “The Northside” (now known as LoHi) by breathing new life into an address with soul. Even its name pays homage to its South Broadway sibling restaurant The Hornet, while tipping a cap to its storied Italian predecessor Patsy’s. The place you bring friends and family from out of town to show them what Denver’s all about. The place you go for that after work cocktail, or your go to date spot, whether it’s your first or 50th date. The place you get the group together on a Saturday night, and where you recover together on a Sunday morning. Acova is the next Highlands institution, bearing vintage flair and contemporary charm that threads the past into the future. Acova brings you back time and again because you are part of this story now, and Acova is part of yours.

Afternoon tea was lovely! Brown Palace beautifully decorated for Christmas, so festive! Atmosphere was cheery and bright and had all the holiday feels. I had heard that the BP had gone downhill a bit, but that was not at all our experience. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and polite. Our server was wonderful and attentive, and the food was terrific! Added bonus there was a piano player and he was wonderful and made the event even more special! Highly recommend!

Had an early dinner in the lower level seating area in the super comfy chairs. This history and setting in the dining area are very unique and help to justify the somewhat high price of the meals. Our server Nadia was very helpful in describing the different options on the menu. Despite the number of lukewarm reviews for the buffalo prime rib, I decided to order that and I was glad I did. I got it 12 oz cut cooked medium rare with the peppercorn crust and it was "to die for" good in taste, doneness, texture, etc. My friend got the elk and buffalo tenderloin and while it was also good, we both agreed the prime rib was better. The Dutch apple pie with ice cream made a great finish to the meal. Out the door cost for two meals and the shared dessert without any alcohol was just south of $210 including the tip, and I left feeling it was worth it.

I came to The Fort to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary and wow what a unique exterior that matched the name of the restaurant so well! Our server Adam was so sweet and had the best recommendations as it was our first time there. We started off with the Historian Platter, which had a great assortment of their popular appetizers. It was a great value to try a little bit of everything, and I did enjoy everything except the peanut butter stuffed jalapeños mostly because they were chilled, but the flavor was delish! The salad was divine with the chipotle honey dressing, super fresh and don't even get me started on the pumpkin muffins that come on the side! For my main course I had the duck which was so tender and flavorful, however I wasn't a big fan of the wild rice. We saved room for dessert to do their crème brule, so so delicious all in all an amazing experience all the way through. Thank you to our server Adam for making our anniversary so special!

Went here 2x when in Denver this fall. For a tavern, the food was extra good. For lunch, the Caesar salad was among the best I've ever had, and the shrimp salad sandwich with tarragon was excellent. For dinner, for vegetarians they had a tofu steak with potatoes and vegetables that was also top notch. Drinks were good too. Service was attentive and friendly without being bothersome. And its location in the spectacular Brown Palace hotel can't be beat.
