Welcome to SKÅL Nordic Dining - the neighbourhood Nordic restaurant located in a Grade II listed building at 149 Upper Street - a well-known address for high quality Scandinavian food and drink. Our restaurant SKÅL, meaning ‘Cheers’ in Swedish, opened on the 2nd of December 2019. We serve traditional Nordic recipes but with a modern, seasonal twist - all underpinned by the term 'husmanskost' meaning traditional home cooked Swedish food. Down this atmospheric alley opposite St Bartholomew church, Cloth is taking over a double fronted corner site that’s beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman and next door to the two oldest residential buildings in London. My party was warmly greeted by Alex, he gave us great service throught our visit. Offered us opinions and explanations on dishes we were unsure of. Alex was very accommodating and friendly throughout. We also had great cocktails from Sergio who created drinks to our individual tastes and each cocktail was a hit. We had a great time and we'll definitely be back soon. The food is affordable, tasty and well portioned. There is a meal for all food preferences which makes it so much easier to have group meals here.

A simple menu but all delicious. Everything is gluten free except the rye bread, obviously, and including the desserts. I recommend the meat balls. End the meal with a small glass of aquavit. Lovely meal.
