Best Historic Restaurants in Midtown / Uptown

Had a lovely time, very creative and unique flavors and combinations. Enjoyed the variety of the wait staff, how everyone would come and serve the food, drinks, etc. that yea the open the meal was fantastic. Warm and aromatic and yet sweet and refreshing.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Danico, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the service, ambiance, and attention to detail were absolutely impeccable. The food was outstanding – every dish was expertly crafted, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Meeting the chef during our visit was a special highlight, and it was evident that the culinary team is passionate about delivering excellence. Our server was exceptional, offering attentive and knowledgeable service throughout the evening. He went above and beyond, even taking us on a tour of the restaurant, which added a unique and memorable touch to our experience. The ambiance at Danico was elegant yet inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for a special occasion. The staff made us feel truly valued, and their thoughtful gesture of presenting us with a gift for our anniversary was a testament to the care and dedication they extend to their guests. Every aspect of our evening at Danico was flawless. It was a perfect balance of exceptional service, outstanding cuisine, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Danico to anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience.

Outstanding as always! Joni never fails to impress with its exceptional customer service, exquisite cuisine, and stunning decor. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. While the music performance could be improved to better complement the ambiance, it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment. Joni remains one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto, offering an absolutely beautiful experience every time. Looking forward to returning soon!

Great spot for Mexican food!! Nice ambiance and our server was so nice and friendly. Value for what we got..... Fish tacos ( fantastic) 3 of them is a filling meal. Worth the cost. Guacamole with chips $20 not worth the price I feel it's expensive for the amount of Guacamole and the portion of chips. 14oz Stella beer on tap $13.00 especially when theres 2 inches of foam at the top. Maybe a new guy pouring dont know....( not worth it) most places this is like 9 bucks. Other then that it's a cool vibe. I'll go back for tacos.

Lately Sassafraz is my restaurant of choice for lunch or dinner due to their great menu and fabulous service! I reserved a table in the dining room but we were seated in the café. The staff were very responsive to our request to move to the dining room and Jeff the GM did everything possible to make amends. We were once again very happy with our meal at Sassafraz and we will be back!!
