Best Historic Restaurants in Napa

A great dinner place, from entering to exiting. Staff, ambience, food, drinks, and service - all makes for a great dinner out with family, friends, or a date for two. One of our favorite local spots downtown.

Service was great! Atmosphere was good! Loved the apps! We had calamari and bao buns. Super tasty. The entrees we had (Fusilli Bolognese and Prime Rib special) did not live up to expectations. Fusilli lacked flavor and the Prime Rib has several uneatable sections (tough and grissly) beyond what you would expect with prime rib. We would go back for the apps and spin the wheel that the entrees were better next time.

Service was excellent with attentive staff. Ambience was great - nice space with a casual ambience. Food was excellent - a great variety of flavours at a good price point. We went more for the appetizers and smaller plates vs the mains so we could taste more of the menu - everything we had tasted great.

Tim, our very wonderful server, is clearly and seasoned, professional server. He and his staff knew when to be present and when to leave us alone. No rush felt. We ate in the outdoor 'tent' during a good rainstorm which was wonderful. Plenty of heaters, very warm and dry and the sound of rain over the sound of diners was perfect for the holidays. The food and drinks were outstanding and all the staff we engaged were professional, warm and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Lunch after a matinee is one of our Holiday traditions- this year it was just perfect. The restaurant was packed with diners waiting for tables lined up at the bar, so thank goodness we had a reservation (on a Monday at 3:00PM- who knew?). Once past that minor inconvenience, everything was absolutely wonderful. We shared the Tortelloni appetizer and even though I am an accomplished Italian home cook, it was the best we have ever had. Then we shared the Jack LaLane salad - partly because we grew up with him on TV and the nostalgia was undeniable- and it was perfect. It had a respectable amount of seafood and avocado and was very large. My husband said his Manhatten was excellent. We left vowing to come back soon and often.
