Best Historic Restaurants in Perth Amboy

We live in Metuchen so super convenient. Food and service are very good, and they have a full bar and wine list so no need to lug bottles of wine with you. Great for special occasions and date night. We had our daughter's baby shower here and it was excellent. Family and friends raved about the food. Probably the best food in Metuchen.

First class service, very friendly staff, outstanding quality food, very nice menu selection. An absolute 5 star restaurant. My family really enjoyed the specialty cocktails as well as the service and dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My Wife and I had dinner at the Fisherman tonight. She ordered her favorite stuffed shrimp and I had the Friday special of Monkfish with rice and shrimp and clams. My dish was incredible it was absolutely delicious. I hope the Fisherman adds that dish to the regular menu. Also my Wife absolutely loved her Stuffed Shrimp and of course the dessert we selected really finished a great dinner. We highly recommend the Portuguese Fisherman when looking for a great night out.

Thank you Sam for your kind smile and attentive service. My hubby had a burger. It was cooked to his preference. I had the pulled pork, less the coleslaw, with fries. I ditch the soft brioche bun and use the fries as a bed for my pork. So bad for you, but it tastes delicious. I enjoyed that with a glass of house Pinot. My only complaint is that they no longer has the doughnut dessert. They only serve fried dough stuffed w Oreos. Love this place!
