Lunch after a matinee is one of our Holiday traditions- this year it was just perfect. The restaurant was packed with diners waiting for tables lined up at the bar, so thank goodness we had a reservation (on a Monday at 3:00PM- who knew?). Once past that minor inconvenience, everything was absolutely wonderful. We shared the Tortelloni appetizer and even though I am an accomplished Italian home cook, it was the best we have ever had. Then we shared the Jack LaLane salad - partly because we grew up with him on TV and the nostalgia was undeniable- and it was perfect. It had a respectable amount of seafood and avocado and was very large. My husband said his Manhatten was excellent. We left vowing to come back soon and often.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Scoma's for a small birthday celebration. We were sat promptly upon our arrival for our reservation and attended to soon after with water. We were seated in a booth by the window, where we had a view toward the city. The waitstaff was courteous and obliging. You can tell that they know their job well. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start and they came promptly. The truffle parmesan fries were cooked perfectly, and our martinis were a generous pour. We ordered dinner when ready and it came out in a reasonable amount of time, but we never felt hurried. There is always a choice of fresh fish available, the petrale sole was delicious. Portions are generous, so even though the prices are a bit high, you get a great meal and clean and comfortable surroundings. In our reservation we noted a birthday, so we were brought a large scoop of ice cream with a candle to top off the evening.

Poggio is my go-to restaurant. It never disappoints. The food, the service, the ambiance are all top notch. My return guests from out of town always request at least one meal at Poggio. First timers have remarked, “if only we had a restaurant like this back home”. Well done!

A while back, I cannot book reservation on Open Table app the time we wanted but I still booked at a later time. When I called the restaurant directly, the hostess was able to adjust the reservation to the time we wanted. We arrived to our reservation at 12:30 pm today. The hostess Daria was so accommodating when I asked to change our table to a better view of the water. The server was nice explaining the good red wine on the menu according to my liking. I ordered the recommended Meiomi red wine. It was light to my taste which was good. My friends got white wine and Irish coffee. For starters we ordered the Horseradish Deviled Eggs with Bacon and tasted good. My friends ordered the same Crab Cake Benedict and Classic Eggs Benedict. I got the Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops over the risotto. The whole food was delicious. The interior ambiance was beautiful. The service was superb. A few times I visited the restaurant in the past and I don’t mind returning for occasions or just to hang out with girl friends. I recommend The Trident restaurant even it’s a drive to Sausalito from different angles of places.
