Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. Hi Neighbor!At Trestle, we remember a time, not too long ago, where people took pause to enjoy a meal in the presence of great company, giving it the reverence and respect deserved. We provide a dining experience served in courses, with the satisfaction and warmth found at a family gathering, creating the foundation to a proper meal. Every day we feature a changing 3 course prix fixe menu with choices on each course for $45/person. We will have an optional additional pasta course for $12/person. An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware. Overall, the ambiance is pure 1930's and 1940's - tasteful art moderne reminiscent of the glory days of Cunard and French Line ships. Fashionable and glamorous are the hallmarks. Trendy is simply not a part of the BIX culture. The clientele at BIX ranges from San Francisco movers-and-shakers to "savvy travelers" - owner Doug Biederbeck's term for the many diners in the know from out of town who patronize his establishment.     As previously dining at the Kokkari was a great experience. Both the "Mezethes" and the entres were well prepared. The grilled whole fish (lavraki) was delicious. If i were to find one shortcoming it would be that the sauce should be more lemony. Also the ravili Greek style were very good with delicious broth. Service attentive and prompt. Great place for lunch or dinner.

    Charming "old school" Jazz Bistro-Supper Club vibe. Mellow Jazz, jazz themed bar mural and decor. The food is excellent, perhaps a bit rich for me (lots of butter and creme). Delicious! The bar is very classic-classy, well staffed, and great craft cocktails. All staff were engaging, pleasant, upbeat, and professional. Coat check is a nice 'grace note.'

    Our family dinner at the Wayfare Tavern on Christmas Eve was just as magical and delicious as I was hoping! The atmosphere transports you to another place and time in the most wonderful way. It was cozy, beautiful and comfortable. The staff were attentive and the food perfectly prepared and served in a timely manner. We started with the magnificent deviled eggs and enjoyed the lobster, with burrata mashed potatoes and broccolini, macaroni and cheese and the burger. Bravo Wayfare Tavern! We will be back!

    a family holiday celebration evening. we had dec 23rd chef's tasting menu. we included a family share of risotto & pasta. five entrees in all. our family are world travelers & food connsoisseurs. i'm a self-taught international cook. able sons can cook. it takes culinary uniqueness to impress our family. it's the holiday. a full house on 1st hour. k, chef does best of ability. beginning entrees were tasty, but not about presentation like in restaurant photos, but we like it rudimentary. i sense kitchen staff became overwrought 2nd half. entrees became salty. a low salt person, i was dehydrated from salt. my hot water was not replenished. ah, chai was around the corner. boba drinks a block away. still highly commend front of house staff. a full house, and they work well as a team ensuring & assuring our family enjoyed our restaurant experience during our 1st visit. a rarity... they check in our outerwears & umbrellas.

    We ordered all the apps for a group of 8. Service was great from the bar to the tables. Very friendly bartender and waitstaff! Love the convenient parking coming from the East Bay. This is a great meeting spot. Loved the hummus, Brussels and the halloumi. Not a duck fan but the radio it came on was great. Wish Tadig was offered with the kabab. Loved the ice cream with saffron.
