Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests.     We have been to countless busy trendy restaurants on a Saturday night. There was a party that made it busier. What amazed my husband and I was the manager’s amazing skill in making customers happy. Seeing that we’d been waiting with a reservation, he offered for us to have an appetizer on the house. Our waitress was SO lovely and despite being clearly busy, was so attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We brought home leftovers and our kiddos loved them so much!

    First time dining here. Best customer service experience ever from a wait staff. I cannot recommend highly enough. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. The food was equally impressive. Had to flip my card red a few times to keep myself from eating to much. We will be back again!

    I have been going to Nectar for years! And I am pleased to see that the food just gets better and better. I do wish they would add the mushroom tempura roll back on the menu - the pumpkin tempura, vegetable soy wrap are great though for vegetarians. My only complaint was the reception. There were four girls standing there, no one greeted us, or even welcomed us. It was by far the worst welcome I’ve ever had there and being a minority I wondered if it has something to do with that in these nutty times. I will chalk it up to inexperience and def go back for the food again. The waiter was excellent, the drinks were great - still remains one of my favorite places.
