Le BIX vous accueille dans un établissement exceptionnellement élégant, de type « speakeasy » civilisé et bar sophistiqué. Le BIX est installé dans un intérieur de 2 étages caractérisé par un bar en acajou légèrement incurvé, des colonnes cannelées à chapiteaux ornés, de superbes œuvres d'art originales, des banquettes moelleuses, des cabines confortables, du linge de maison amidonné, ainsi que des verres et des couverts étincelants. Dans l'ensemble, l'ambiance est représentative des années 1930 et 1940, du bon goût moderne de l'art rappelant les jours de gloire des compagnies maritimes Cunard et françaises. La mode et le glamour sont les maîtres-mots, le branché de mauvais goût n'ayant absolument pas sa place au BIX. Le BIX reçoit autant les personnes dynamiques de San Francisco que les voyageurs avertis, terme du propriétaire Doug Biederbeck pour les nombreux convives étrangers à la ville qui fréquentent son établissement.
