Spark Beer and Pizza opened in 2020 with a goal to produce and serve the best lagers, hoppy, sour and Belgian influenced beers possible. Owners Andrea and John have lived in and around Chinatown for over 20 years and, along with chef Jeff, set up shop steps away from the beautiful Chinatown archway. Their beers have won many awards including their 3 time Ontario Brewing Awards winning Manhire Berliner Weisse (gold 2021, gold 2022, silver 2023).Spark started serving 'west centretown' pizzas in November of 2022 and now offer a variety of pizzas all served on house-made cold fermented dough with the best toppings we can find. It used to be home to the Commercial Hotel Tavern, built in 1837, making it the oldest bar in the Ottawa area at the time.     The service was very good and our waitress was very helpful. I found the Lamb to be excellent. The beef tartar I ordered was covered with small black chips. Seemed like a great idea over having crisps on the side. Unfortunately, the chips we're incredibly salty. They had a great beer selection of Stout and IPA as well as wine by the glass. Overall, I would return and recommend this restaurant to others.

    We reserved a table in advance and it was ready for our arrival. The service was prompt and attentive without being over-bearing. Pizza had fun different options and alternatives (vegan cheese and gluten free). Beer options were fantastic! Accommodating to modifications on pizza options. Will definitely be back!!

    Very nice evening, the waitress was professionnal and attentive to our need The ambiance (Oktoberfest music group playing) was absolutely entertaining. The food is OK but very greassy. It was a special menu for that evening.... I recommend this restaurant Chantal
