- RRichardVIPGreater Boston •100 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoAfter many years, we decided to make the drive to The Gris. We were not disappointed. I ordered clam chowder and the salmon entree. My wife ordered the cod entree. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious. However, our waitress seemed confused at times and not everything went smoothly as a result. For instance, although I asked for the chowder to be served before the entrees but the entrees were brought to the table without getting the chowder. When I asked the waitress what happened, she was confused but asked me if I still wanted it. I said yes and she promptly served it along side my salmon. That aside, it is a grand old place. The only other negative was that a cold breeze permeated the restaurant every time the front door opened. You would think they would have solved that problem over the many years it’s been there.More infoThe Griswold InnPrice: Expensive• American• Essex•4.5

- NNancyVIPNew York City •113 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 28, 2024Chef Margherita Aloi never disappoints. She is one of the few chefs in CT who provide that true Italian vibe. This is not an Italian American cuisine. Her choice of dishes and specials are like. O where Elise the servers are incredibly knowledgeable about everything she offers from cocktails. Desserts and specials. I had her ho,made pasta with filet mignon tips in a Marsala reduction with a sliver of parmigiana reggiano cheese. It was exceptional and made me feel like I was back in Italy. This is my all time favorite restaurant. From the moment you enter to being seated you are lifted to another place. I’ve been following Chef Aloi for more than 20 years. This is the real deal. Brava chef.More infoIl PalioPrice: Expensive• Italian• Shelton•4.7

- WWilliamGreater Boston •12 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 21, 2024We had a reservation as it was a night that UConn was playing at the XL Center and were seated on time. The place was packed and there probably weren't enough waitstaff on duty but we were able to dine and leave with enough time to make the start of the game. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience. The food came out hot and was delicious. We will try this place again for sure and make an earlier reservation next time.More infoBlack-Eyed Sally'sPrice: Moderate• Regional American (Southern)• Hartford•4.3
