Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first. Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza. Croccante currently holds an award from 50 top pizza, as one of the 50 top pizzerias in USA in the "excellent" category as well as a nomination by SF Chronicle as One of the Top Pizzerias in the Bay Area.

Comfortable, friendly service. Attention to detail. Terrific food in a great atmosphere. Come on in, let's eat!Please note that our covered, heated terrace is open all year and super 'dog friendly' during lunch and brunch hours - during dinner in the colder months we enclose the terrace and it's considered part of the dining room.     Fantastic ! The flavors, presentation and quality of the dishes were spectacular and al the level of a Michelin restaurant. The service was outstanding and the ambiance more than perfect. We had a great lunch and are very happy to have La Salette in Sonoma.

    Food and service was great. Only issue. Pasta dishes around $30 so a couple of people chose them. . Asked if we wanted some shaved truffle. No explanation of additional cost!!! Cost of truffle $55. Without saying the cost that is a bit deceptive as the dish then costs $85. So truffle$110 pasta $60. Sly.

    We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary at Wit & Wisdom. The restaurant really made us feel special. It was one of our favorite dining experiences ever. I only wish I didn't have a larger-than-planned lunch beforehand so I could eat more. I started with a smoky bourbon cocktail which hit the spot on a cold rainy evening. The octopus and chickpea dish was warm and savory with a spiced broth. I ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. It wasn't as a sticky and rich as the one I had in England years ago, but it was a nice end to the meal. We will definitely be back. I just wish the restaurant opened for lunch so we can go more often as a day trip.
