From the moment we arrived for our reservation time every thing was based on customer satisfaction. Restaurant was very busy asked if we would mind waiting to get a premium window seat, seated and promptly greeted by our server and offered water while we looked over drink menu, drink menu was extensive with additional offers for new years eve drinks ordered and promptly served even though bar was packed with patrons celebrating the end of year. Drinks enjoyed while our group looked over food menu server gave ample time for us to make our choices before giving her suggestions and explaining the specials. 3 in our group ordered seafood and one the chicken. All were extremely pleased with their entry. Overall a great experience only negative was noise level made it difficult to have a conversation but a packed restaurant may have been the reason and that is a good thing to see so many people out enjoying a good meal and having a good time. Highly recommend Fish Hopper for food , service and enjoyable dinning experience.

Food was mediocre. Fish has overcooked and tasteless. Pretty disappointing for the price.

Waited for 20 mins for a hostess to greet us - this is most poorly run restuarant we have been to - food was very good but management needs to change- oh by the way we had reservations in open table so that seems to make no difference

We had local fish with risotto, ahi tuna and ribs. Fish was good and a simple filet, risotto good but at $39, not a great vale. Ahi tuna was good, but not special. Ribs were well cooked but sauce was heavy and sweet. Nice sized helpings. Passion fruit cheesecake was rich but flavor was muted. Service was excellent. . Waitress was very helpful, yet over worked. We had beers, four main courses, shared a dessert - came to $188 before tip.

Busy place at dinner hour. First, parking is very challenging with the small lot behind and the street both filling up quickly. Seated pretty quickly after some issues with my reservation or something. Menu is big and service was slow so plan on patience. Overall it was good not great. Lunch might be good with the water view across the street.

Chaos prevailed and an unprofessional and rude staff ruled the front of the house. First, take note that making a reservation makes no difference, as the eye rolling hostess rudely pointed out upon our arrival. Customers waiting to be seated were treated like cattle; we were ordered to stay behind the door…but people needed to enter in order to find a “hostess” in order to get their name down. Go figure. Rudeness was the special on the menu that night…So, after a 45 minute wait, we were seated. Then we waited….and waited…for two glasses of water. There were 3 of us. A rushed server finally arrived long enough to take our drink, appetizer, entree order all at once. All the while not really looking at us but appearing distracted by the continuing chaos. It felt like they’d never experienced a dinner rush. Food was average …their signature Poke Nachos were profoundly disappointing. A few soggy wonton wrappers topped with average not-cold-enough fish, limited cilantro, and a sauce that was a strange and unnatural shade of pistachio ice cream. I had the Maui Onion Salad. Goat cheese was lovely as was the locally grown butter lettuce. Onions wee awkwardly perched on top of greens…they were at least 1.5 inches high and the full ring of onion. Very difficult to manage. Husband's ribs were not notable…son’s keiki order was fine. We were asked if our food was okay by a woman who was rushing past our table. I’ve been in food service, and I know what feeling “slammed” can do to a team. This team was not handling the volume of the evening…very disappointed…definitely won’t be back.

Food was great. Some portions were small, Shrimp skewer= 2 shrimp. Getting food out to the table a bit slow. Appetizer never came out. They ended up bringing us the appetizer with our meal, but at least they comped us. Wait staff very nice.

Table was ready when we arrived. Rebecca served us immediately and the food was excellent. The bartender Ben could have been more attentive when we arrived (and the restaurant was setting up for lunch) but he makes a great bloody mary so all is forgiven.

Enjoyed the special Christmas menu with prime rib. The meat was medium rare as ordered and was a tasty & generous 14 oz portion. The mixed veggies were a wonderful. They were a fresh mix of broccoli, squash, green beans, & carrots that were optimally cooked not raw and not mushy! Mashed potatoes and au jus were classic and great, too! Service was excellent and attentive especially given that it was a full house for the holiday. A real holiday treat for the family to eat out.

Crab cakes were mushy and cold. Chowder was just a thick mush lacking flavor. The steak tasted like gas. Big Island Mai Tai overly sweet. Fish lacked flavor. Was not worth the over $200 we spent.
