Experience the beauty of the Pacific Ocean at The Fish Hopper Seafood and Steak, overlooking Kailua Bay on the Big Island Hawaii. Enjoy fresh seafood from Hawaii and fresh seafood flown in weekly from California, plus our signature Bucket of Fire and Volcano flaming drinks, all within walking distance to shops and historic sites.

A landmark (formerly the Ocean View Inn) and a local’s favorite Kona restaurant since 1934, the building housing The Fish Hopper has been beautifully restored to expand upon its spectacular ocean views. We proudly serve seafood from sustainable sources, harvested by methods that do not harm the environment.

Driveway to parking is on the RIGHT side of the building when you look at it from the ocean. OR, it's to the right of the main entrance and coffee shop. Parking is available up the driveway, it's lighted for ease in the dark. There are also handicap spots where there is ramp access to the back of the dining room.

Delicious food and wonderful ambiance. A little expensive, but that is only because it is such a great location. Still worth it.

Food and service were great . A group of teenage soccer(?) boys were eating hamburgers and fries and their chaperones were oblivious to the noise they were making. The restaurant should have reminded them that it was not a Macdonalds and be respectful of others paying $45 per plate of food

We go to Fish Hopper every year during our weeklong visit. It is always a treat.

Great view of Kona bay. Saw dolphins putting on a show, jumping up and playing around Fish was excellent. My husband had the Ahi and I had the Sanddab (type of flounder). Definitely recommend we will be back
