   A excellent experience yesterday in this vegetarian/vegan restaurant. There is food to please most people with small or large plates offerings. The food is always tasty and very well presented. The restaurant is in a lovely old building a road away from the sea with windows to watch the world go by. Perfect!

   A lunch for two as a birthday treat. Fabulous service, comfortable chairs, not too crowded for 1pm lunch half term week. Beautiful food, we only had mains, stunning presentation and very tasty. Great service by our waitress then as we were leaving, complimentary birthday chocolates and strawberries arrived.

   Seated 30mins late, then took another 30 mins for them to take a food order. Food was very average, not worth the prices

   We booked a Valentine’s Day meal at Food For Friends, arriving for the first lunch reservation of the day, excited to revisit one of our favourite restaurants. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, it was clear that our presence—specifically having our young son with us—was not welcomed. The staff member who seated us set a cold and uninviting tone, making us feel more like an inconvenience than valued guests. The restaurant was completely silent at first, which in itself wouldn’t have been an issue, but the atmosphere remained awkward and uncomfortable. It wasn’t until other guests arrived that any sense of ambience began to emerge, yet by that point, we already felt out of place. To the restaurant’s credit, our waitress was absolutely lovely—warm, friendly, and attentive. However, the damage had already been done. The initial interaction and the overall atmosphere overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable meal. This was particularly disappointing given how much we’ve loved dining here in the past. Previously, it’s been a highlight of Brighton’s vegan dining scene, but something seems to have shifted. A restaurant’s success isn’t just about the food—it’s about hospitality. If guests don’t feel welcome from the moment they step in, it taints the entire experience. Sadly, this visit has left us reluctant to return, which is a real shame. I hope the management takes note and ensures that all guests, regardless of whether they’re dining as a couple, a family, or otherwise, are made to feel just as welcome as they have in the past.

   Lovely food! Great choice of vegan and veggie for lunch with friends. It's a great Brighton institution and wonderful to see it going strong as ever.
